Brazilian man cannot auction off his wife

The Brazilian government required an internet auction site to remove an ad where a man is offering to sell his wife for about 50 bucks.

As of Saturday the ad was no longer visible on Mercado Livre, an auction site partially owned by Ebay. Mercado Livre was warned the it was violating a law banning the offer or sale of “human organs, people, blood, bones, or skin”.

The man who listed his name as Breno, gave a simple explanation. “I sell my wife for reasons I prefer to keep short… I really need the money.”
