Please don’t vote for me

Paul Herold is asking voters to vote for his opponenet in an upcoming City Council race.

After signing up to be in the election, Herold got a new job that he feels wouldn’t leave him enough time to do a good job as a city councilman. But since he missed the deadline for removing his name from the ballot the only two options are that he die or lose the election. There is a third option - he can refuse to run - but that would cost the taxpayers $30,000 for a special election and Herold doesn’t want to do that. So he’s asking voters to vote for his opponent and even offering to drive them to the polls as long as they don’t vote for him.
