Galveston man accused of death threat for football game

Sure, it’s too bad that Galveston Ball had to forfeit their season when an ineligible player was discovered on their team. But 38-year-old Fabian Lewis is taking his disappointment too far. Lewis is accused of making death threats against the Galveston athletic director Brent Jaco.

Galveston Ball was forced to forfeit their 2005 football season when it was discovered that one of the players had not lived in the school attendance zone the 12 months required by the University Interscholastic League, the organization that oversees high school athletics in Texas. Ball had posted an 8-2 record for the season and had to give up their playoff spot to Alvin High School.

Lewis was charged with two counts of making terroristic threats against Jaco and the previous athletic director, Sandra Mader. He posted a $20,000 bond and was released from jail Monday afternoon. Lewis’s connection to the Galveston Ball football team is unknown.

  1. football is king in texas and in Galveston if the ad would have kept his mouth shut we would of never had that problem. Everybody else in the houston area does it. Im not sdaying the ad deserves it, im saying he knoew what he was getting into when he snitched to get the only black coach ball has ever had out of there. The ad brought the threats on his self!

  2. The AD did what did the correct thing. Holmes should have been fired for not doing his job. BUt now…it will take several years for the team to get off the black list because of the problems it has had. How do you know that the Houston teams lie? Are you their AD? and you lie too? Get a life. Being honest is the best policy.
