Anti-Rape Condom
I don’t know, but it looks like it might be painful for the woman as well.
Sonette Ehlers, a 57-year-old from South Africa, unveiled an anti-rape remale condom on Wednesday that attaches itself to the rapists penis. South Africa has one of the highest rates of sexual assaults in the world.
Says Ehlers of her invention, the rapex, “Nothing has ever been done to help a woman so that she does not get raped and I thought it was high time.”
Over 50,000 rapes are reported in South Africa every year, but experts feel that the true number may be up to four times that. Most rapes involve an acquantance or child, and are never reported.
The rapex is worn by the woman in the same way as a female condom. When the man has sex with the woman, barbs attach to his penis. Surgery is required to remove the device.
Not everyone feels that the rapex is a good idea. Sam Waterhouse, an advocacy coordinator for Rape Crisis, “If a vicitim is wearing such a device it may enrage the attacker further and possibly result in more harm being caused.”

I very much doubt that the “victim” wearing this device will have the concentration necessary to attack the female. When activated, Rapex delivers 30 sharp hooks into the shaft of the rapist’s penis. The rapist will be focused on one thought only: removing the barbs as quickly as possible.
