Fat cops ordered on diet
49% of the 4,150 police officers in Bangkok were recently found to be overweight with high cholesterol. According to the Metropolitan Police Bereau this presents “an obstacle” in directing traffic.
88 overweight officers, with waist sizes ranging from 40 to 49 inches, were ordered to join a one-month weight loss program dubbed “Smart Police”.
The goal is to “create a better image of traffic police in the public’s eyes”.
