Robbers accidentally tell plot to 911 operator
Two Rogersville, TN residents planned to steal a refrigerator from a mobile home dealership. Unfortunately for Jason Anthony Arnold and James Keith Benton, both of Church Hill, TN, the 40 minute conversation discussing their plans was heard by a 911 operator.
Arnold had a cell phone in his jeans pocket during the discussion. At some point the 9 key was held down which caused the phone to call 911.
Originally the operator assumed it to be a prank since it was on April 1; but authorities went to the mobile home dealership as a precaution. The pair came to the dealership and proceeded to steal the fridge just like the operator had heard over the phone.
Police hope that revisiting the tape will yield more suspects.
