Gas stations - the real victims of high gas prices

Gas prices crossing the $2 / gallon average is causing an odd problem. Stations are running out of “2s” to put on their signs. Turns out most companies that sell numbers for gas station signs give extra 1s in the packages, but not enough 2s. Extra numbers cost about $150 a piece.

Also problematic is that signs are often not designed to hold a 2, they are made just wide enough for a 1. Some older gas pumps cannot use prices above $1.99 per gallon.
