Update: Cookie girls in Colorado

In one of my earlier postings I mentioned an old grouch that sued two Colorado teens for causing an anxiety attack by leaving cookies on her front porch. Well, there’s more to it.

The two girls have received donations, inluding money from a fundraiser by a local radio station. A cookie company has created a “Kindness Cookie” in honor of the pair.

But, the plantiff’s side has not been so warm and fuzzy. “We have got horrendous phone calls, tons of hate mail, threats to our life”, says Herb Young, husband of Wanita Young who caused all this trouble.

The teens claim they offered to pay the medical bills, but the Youngs refused and demanded that the case go to court. The judge in the case awarded the Youngs $900 in medical costs.

Herb Young has also been accused of making harrassing phone calls to one of the girls, telling her that “the gloves were off.” His side is that the girls caused the attention when they told the media about the court case.
