No plastic surgery for pets in Hollywood
Hollywood mayor John Duran introduced a motion yesterday that would prohibit surgical procedures from being performed on pets for “noncurative” reasons. This includes ear cropping, tail docking, debarking, and defanging. Apparently some pet owners are having surgeries performed to make pets match better to their “taste”.
West Hollywood has already passed laws making it illegal to declaw a cat. Instead of pet “owners”, they are referred to as pet “guardians”. Pet grooming companies are required to have fresh water available.
