New school site is teenagers’ dream
A new school in Tampa, Florida, is located in a place most high school boys would describe as ideal: between a sex shop and a strip club. The school district settled on this location after almost a nine month search, mostly because the district already owned the land.
Principal Bradford Mueller has plans to talk with the neighboring establishments to let them know students will be around starting in August. He will tell them to call immediately if any students come into their stores. Mueller “feel[s] very confident it is not going to be an issue.”
The school will sit between two other district buildings, and a fence is being built to obscure the view from the school.
Approximately 150 students attend the Carter School in grades 6-12.
