A cops backyard is a bad place to grow pot
Ryan Steel decided to make a little money on the side growing marijuana. He found himself a nice section of land and did some planting. But, he should have checked where he was growing it; turns out, the land belonged to the ex-police chief.
Steel was charged with manufacturing a controlled substance, criminal trespass, and agricultural vandalism. 29 marijuana plants ranging in height from 6 feet to 10 feet were removed on December 2. Says the ex-chief, “It was a this-is-your-brain-on-drugs type of thing.”
