11 Arrested After Being Directed to Wrong Courtroom
Eleven people were arrested and jailed for failing to appear before the correct judge. This, after being mistakenly sent to the neighboring courtroom.
The eleven spent eight hours in jail last Friday before autorities straightened everything out.
According to Frantarshia Coleman who was in court for not having her registration and proof of insurance, “I’m hungry. I’m tired, and I’m disgusted.” She added “This is ridiculous. This is disgusting.” According to her ticket, Coleman was supposed to be in courtroom 1B, but in fact she was scheduled in 1A. Judge John R Sloop signed warrants for her and the other ten when they did not show up in court.
After the eleven discovered the problem, they asked to see Judge Sloop to clear up the misunderstanding. He refused to see them.
